A Word of Encouragement from IMF President and CEO Susie Durie |
IMF President and CEO Durie helps us all find silver linings during these challenging times. She writes in her blog this week, “We’ve all been through some tough times going through life, but this pandemic seems to be taking a lot of the wind out of our sails… One thing hasn’t changed: we’re still the same people who care about one another and do everything in our power to make sure that we’re okay.” Read more for your weekly dose of inspiration. |

Register NOW for the Second Annual Schleicher's Hikers 5K Walk/Run |
Jim Schleicher was an avid hiker and cyclist, and he suggested to hold a 5K at the MA & PA Trail to raise funds for the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF). Unfortunately, on October 6, 2019, Jim Schleicher lost his battle against multiple myeloma only six days before the “First Annual Schleicher’s Hikers 5K.” The Schleicher Family, Ravens Roost #74, the IMF, and all Jim’s friends continue to hold this event in Jim’s memory. The event is not timed, and runners and walkers can enjoy the trail at their individual paces. On Saturday, October 10, meet at the PA Trail, Bel Air Section Williams Street Entrance in Bel Air, Maryland 21014. The 5K begins at 9 a.m.-11 a.m. ET, depending on your pace. |

And This Too Shall Pass…. |
Once again, the IMF is hosting a raffle for a 10-day stay at the Villa Ono Oasis in historic Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. While many of us have been affected by COVID-19, we hope to remind you that this too shall pass. If you purchase the winning $50 raffle ticket, you could find yourself just minutes from the Hawaiian coastline. Note: Bookings will be in the future based on mutual availability with you and the property owner. |
