Looking Ahead to a Brighter 2021
As 2020 winds down, the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines is promising us a return to some normality in the new year. But it’s important to continue to stay safe until enough people have been vaccinated to dramatically reduce likelihood of infection in the community. “The music of life,” says IMF Chairman Dr. Brian G.M. Durie, should resume by mid-year 2021.

Life Can Be the Best of Times… or the Worst of Times. It's All Up to You.
In her blog, IMF President, Founder, and CEO Susie Durie compares 2020 and the times of the pandemic to Dickensian times, ultimately finding hope for the future. She writes, “Here I am changing gears to wrap my head around what a ‘pandemic’ really is, how to deal with it, and how to stay safe (and sane) at the same time. What would Dickens have done? I tried to call him, but he didn’t pick up.” Read now for your weekly dose of inspiration.

Happy Holidays: Refresh and Recharge!
The International Myeloma Foundation is more than an organization that provides research, education, support, and advocacy for the myeloma community. The IMF is also a family.  As such, the IMF Board of Directors generously allows our hardworking staff the time to spend with our own families at the end of the year. Our office will be closed from December 23, 2020 to January 3, 2021, including the IMF InfoLine. Though the IMF office will be closed, it’s not too late to make your year-end contribution online. Gifts received online before midnight PST on December 31, 2020, will be eligible as a 2020 deduction. Thank you for your unwavering support!

Gift Ideas from the IMF
The IMF is grateful to our volunteer Member FUNraisers. For the holidays, two volunteers have created stores on Etsy for you to purchase exclusive, handcrafted jewelry. Learn more about their stores on Etsy at these pages: Tiny Bea’s Fundrasier or Amy K’s Jewels. If you have someone in your life with a sweet tooth, consider shopping at the chocolate shop, Bruno’s One Sweet Ride. As always, the IMF has merchandise available year-round for the Myeloma Warrior in your life. If you purchase any from any of these online shops, you help fund the IMF’s mission!
And This Too Shall Pass…
Once again, the IMF is hosting a raffle for a 10-day stay at the Villa Ono Oasis in historic Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. While many of us have been affected by COVID-19, we hope to remind you that this too shall pass. If you purchase the winning $50 raffle ticket, you could find yourself just minutes from the Hawaiian coastline. The winner will be announced on April 2, 2021. Note: Bookings will be in the future based on mutual availability with you and the property owner.
