Durie will moderate presentations with IMF Nurse Leadership Board Member Teresa Miceli RN, BSN, OCN® (Mayo Clinic — Rochester, MN); Adam Cohen, MD (University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine — Philadelphia); Paul Richardson, MD (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute — Boston); and IMF Vice President of Support Groups Robin Tuohy. Attendees will learn what the latest advancements in myeloma research mean for patients, how to better manage side effects, optimal choices for relapsed patients, and more. At the end of the presentations, participants will have time to ask questions.

The next IMF Virtual Regional Community Workshop will take place November 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. MT. Learn about upfront treatments at diagnosis, maintenance therapy, relapse information, and clinical trials. The panel of experts will include Edward A. Stadtmauer, MD (University of Pennsylvania — Philadelphia); Luciano Costa, MD (University of Alabama at Birmingham); and IMF Nurse Leadership Board member Daniel Verina, DNP, ACNP-BC (Mount Sinai Hospital — New York). IMF Director of Regional Community Workshops and Support Groups Kelly Cox will welcome attendees. After each presentation with the experts, attendees will be able to ask questions.

The IMF’s M-Power Initiative is focused on changing the course of myeloma in the African-American community, especially since myeloma is two times as common in people of African descent as it is in all other races and ethnicities.
