Miles for Myeloma 2017
You can help me make a difference! I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in July 2008. Myeloma is an incurabe, but treatable blood cancer of the plasma cells. Researchers are developing therapies that are extending the lives of many myeloma patients. In the last 15 years the FDA approved 11 new myeloma therapies which more than quadrupled overall survival from 2 years to 10 years. But myeloma is still considered incurable and unfortunately myeloma survivors relapse and eventually run out of options. This year was a very bad year for me. I lost several of my very dear friends to this dreaded disease because they ran out of options. This is why I am raising money.
Once a year I ask my friends and family to support me in my efforts to raise funds for Miles for Myeloma. The funds raised from this event will benefit the research and patient services efforts of the International Myeloma Foundation. I can personally attest that the IMF is a life line for the myeloma community. Knowledge is power and the IMF empowers patients with the latest updates about myeloma biology, side effect management, treatment options, financial resources and clinical research. Please help me make a difference by supporting my fundraising page. No amount is too small. Any donation will be appreciated.
