Hello family and friends! My sister Hope was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in April 2018 shortly after her birthday. Multiple myeloma is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. Multiple myeloma causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow, where they crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause complications . No one knows the exact causes of multiple myeloma, but it is more common in older people and African Americans. Multiple myeloma is a blood cancer related to lymphoma and leukemia. As you can imagine, this totally shocked us all. For years, Hope has been supporting Breast Cancer Walks and she's very passionate about it. We would've never thought about a walk for her because she has cancer. She goes out her way for everyone. My sister has been an awesome Mother, Daughter, Sister and most importantly a VERY GOOD friend to so many. To know Hopey, is to love her. I'm in awe to see how strong and detemined she has been through this whole process. She has a heart of gold. Truly one of God's biggest Blessings in my life. I have started a team called #HOPE4HOPE. We'll be participating in the walk for her. Please join the team or make a donation towards our goal for support. You can come walk with us as well. Our goal is to raise $1, 500. Every penny counts, there's no such thing as a small donation. She's been such a Blessing to so many, let's come together and show support and be a Blessing to her. I hope to see you there!
PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT #HOPE4HOPE
