I never expected that at 34 years old with two young girls I would be diagnosed with a cancer like multiple myeloma. After months of procedures, chemo, and treatment at the Forrest General Cancer Center as well as the Mayo Clinic, I recently underwent a stem cell transplant that I hope greatly improves the potential outcome for me and my family. I'm pleased to say that I am currently back home enjoying life with my family in Hattiesburg.
I’m thankful for our hometown and the amazing community of friends and family that have been so supportive of us. We want to thank this community and at the same time raise awareness and funds for multiple myeloma research through the International Myeloma Foundation and also bring greater attention to the Forrest General Hospital Cancer Center.
It’s often been said that laughter can be the best medicine and we certainly all need a little laughter as we face challenges in life. We are excited to announce this inaugural Laughs 4 Life comedic event.
