...about Multiple Myeloma
Multiple Myeloma (more commonly known as
myeloma) is a blood cancer that affects the
production of plasma cells in bone marrow.
Although not well known to the general public,
myeloma is the second most common blood cancer.
Approximately 24,000 are diagnosed annually in the
US alone. For new patients, as well as those living
with the disease for years, myeloma is life
changing. The symptoms are constant and ongoing:
bone pain, extreme fatigue, nausea, numbness in
the hands and/or feet, kidney problems and
IMF research supports the development of new drug therapies.
These therapies have helped prolong
lives, but myeloma continues to be an incurable
Your support will help fund research that could
possibly find a cure for this disease.
