2nd Annual Virtual Walk for Myeloma Miracles

 June 20, 2020
Central Park
11200 Base Line Rd.
 Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701

Dear Walkers and Supporters:
It has been a challenge to hold a physical walk since Covid-19 in March.  Our walk has been postponed twice.  We were looking forward to hosting our walk Saturday, June 20th.  However, since many in our group do not want to risk being in a crowd, we unanimously decided to host a virtual walk instead on June 20th.
For those of you who ordered a T-Shirt, a few of us will be at Central Park in Rancho Cucamonga (our walk site) in the parking lot from 8:30 -10:30 if you would like to drop by and pick up your T-Shirt.  We will also be accepting any additional donations at that time.  You can opt to walk the trail if you want to get in some exercise, as it is a public trail. Note: Please remember to maintain social distancing at Central Park.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is out of our hands.  Everyone’s safety is our top priority.  Thank you so much for your continued support of IMF and our support group.  We look forward to seeing you all in person next year!  Thank you again, to our Silver Sponsor, Owning!!!

Please join the local Inland Empire and Inland Valley WARRIORS battling multiple myeloma at their Second Annual Virtual Walk for Myeloma Miracle fundraiser. We encourage you to Run, Walk, Bike, or Treadmill on your own path to complete the Virtual Walk for Myeloma Miracles. Choose your virtual walk and complete it at your pace. While we may not be able to walk together physically let's get together in spirit and support each other and this cause to find a cure for multiple myeloma.

We are dedicating our walk this year to three Warriors we lost in 2019:

Tom Gay, Ralph Hayden and Keith Mitchell

The IMF is dedicated to raising community awareness, funding critical research and providing programs locally and nationally for patients and caregivers. International Myeloma Foundation is a non-profit public corporation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

Teams are encouraged to design their own shirt to wear at this year's Virtual Walk.  Be creative! Teams with their own t-shirts can opt out of receiving a walk t-shirt. Take a picture of you wearing your unique team shirt on and email it to littlegeneralpam@verizon.net . On Saturday June 20th our committee will vote on the most creative shirt. The winner will be posted here along with their unique shirt. The prize for the winning team is a gift set for up to 20 people from Total Wines.  We are all looking forward to seeing your creativity!

This is not a timed event, it's a casual walk. The shortest distance on the trail is 2 miles, but participants can opt to go 5 miles. It is also bicycle friendly.

Multiple myeloma is a complex (and often misdiagnosed) cancer of the bone marrow that attacks and destroys bone. In the United States, there are over 1,000 new cases of myeloma diagnosed each month. In the past 30 years, there has been a dramatic (400%) increase in the incidence of multiple myeloma. Once a disease of the elderly, people in their twenties, thirties and forties are now being diagnosed with myeloma.

If you would like to raise funds and participate in the walk, please register here.

If you cannot attend but would like to show your support, please click on the blue Donate button at the top.
