SECOND ANNUAL MARCH MYELOMA ACTION MONTH MIND/BODY EVENT
Description of event: This hour-long workout will begin with a series of seated warm up stretches focusing on the breath. A fusion of standing tai chi patterns and yoga poses will follow. Guided meditation will conclude the workout.

WHY: This is a very personal event and is intended to bring awareness to this life-threatening disease and the many resources of the International Myeloma Foundation.
WHAT IS MULTIPLE MYELOMA?
Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the bone marrow plasma cells. Plasma cells make antibodies against infectious agents such as viruses and bacteria. A cancerous or malignant plasma cell is a called a myeloma cell. Myeloma is called "multiple" because there are frequent multiple patches or areas in bone marrow where it grows.
