Julie's Country to Town Ride for a Cure - 2020

JULIE’S COUNTRY TO TOWN RIDE FOR A CURE!

MY STORY

Tuttle Profile Picture

My name is Julie.  I'm an active, independent person with a happy life and a great job, but by the beginning of 2019 I was finding it difficult to focus, exercise took me hours or even days to recover, and I was in constant pain.  In September I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an uncommon type of blood cancer.  At first, I wasn't going to tell anyone; I didn't want people to feel sorry for me.  "I'm strong“, I told myself.  I also needed time to come to terms with the fact that my type of cancer does not yet have a cure.

Well, I am strong, but I can't sit around and wait for others to find the cure.  I need to be an active participant in that endeavor, and in the treatment and cure of the more than 130,000 people currently living with the disease in the United States.

On May 30th my family and friends will participate in a bicycle ride to raise awareness and money for the International Myeloma Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of, and hopefully finding a cure for, those who suffer from this terrible disease.  I would love to have as many people as we can join us on this ride of support in our effort towards Finding the Cure!
