Reverend Leon Grant
Reverend Leon Grant from Eastover, SC was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend to many. Following the direction of God, Leon moved to Rockville, MD where he lived for over 55 years. He followed his calling of public service working for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for 25 years. Later Leon followed his spiritual calling becoming Pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Rockville, MD, where he served for 30 years. His life’s work was helping others and serving those in his congregation and community. Leon demonstrated faithfulness, dedication, and selfless service not only to his family but to all he came in contact with. The life he lived had a significant impact on many.
Leon passed on December 14, 2019 after battling multiple myeloma for many years. His kindness and compassion touched many even though his health began to fail. He went through much emotionally and physically but never lost faith nor complained. He had tremendous faith with his oncology team and other caregivers. Even though he had a strong will and faith, God had other plans and now Reverend Grant is at peace.
Founded in 1990, the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) is the first and largest organization focusing specifically on multiple myeloma. The IMF’s reach extends to more than 525,000 members in 140 countries worldwide. The IMF is dedicated to improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working toward prevention and a cure through our four founding principles: Research, Education, Support, and Advocacy. Staying true to the legacy of Reverend Leon Grant, we hope your contribution will help other myeloma patients.
