My miles are for Sandy
On April 30th, I will be running a 5k in Philadelphia, PA and am asking that you consider making a donation to my fundraising page, which will go to the International Myeloma Foundation. For those of you who know me, I’ve run a lot of races, but this one is important. I am running in honor of my former colleague and dear friend, Sandy, who was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma after 6 months of excruciating back and rib pain. Multiple myeloma is a rare cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. It can lead to bone damage, fractures, impaired immune function, and kidney damage. It’s the reason Sandy has been in pain for so long and the reason she currently needs a walker to get around (she’s only 55)! Unfortunately, there is no cure, but the International Myeloma Foundation works to improve the quality of life of myeloma patients while working toward prevention and a cure. Please consider donating. Even a small donation can make a big difference.
